Today we finished the last of our filming (the tea party scene) which i’m glad is done now. I’m also pleased that the weather was so nice today!
So we set up on location which was by our band performance location at Long Road, it was a really nice setting as we used a picnic style table by the pond. We begun by setting up the table with all our props unfortunately we didn’t have our ‘Eat Me’ cakes but Rob bought some Skittles we ended up using which worked fine as we wrote ‘Eat Me’ on a playing card which we sat beside the bowl with the skittles. We also ended up borrowing fabric from the art department that we used as a table cloth.
We did have a slight problem as Ali (our keyboardist) wasn’t in college and we needed all our footage done today so I suggested we just have Emma at the Tea Party with our characters as she’s lead and then it wouldn’t look like we were missing a band member as if it were Emma and Rob, I think this worked fine to be honest.
Whilst I was waiting for our performers to change and do their hair and make-up etc I shot some close-ups and mid shots of the props we were using which we can use as cut a ways. When our performers were ready we began by doing a few takes of our slowed down section of the song, i’m looking forward to seeing how it’ll look once edited. We then did a run through of the whole song (normal speed) of just a close up of Emma lip syncing and some shots of our characters changing places/seats (like in Alice in Wonderland) and of course the changing of characters like the Orange Free Gig advert. We also left the camera recording for a while to get footage of our performers just sitting at the table which we will be able to use.
Tomorrow we’re at Coleridge so i’ll be able to capture the footage onto Final Cut Express and begin to Edit.
